Tiger Woods was arrested in the wee morning hours Monday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrest took place around 3am in Jupiter, Florida, where Woods resides. He was reportedly released later in the morning.
The top golfer won 79 PGA Tour titles but took a break from playing after struggling with his back. He withdrew from his last competition at the Dubai Desert Classic in February. Woods released a statement last week, explaining both his physical state and his intention to once again play golf:
"I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again. Presently, I’m not looking ahead. I can’t twist for another two-and-a-half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”
Woods had his fourth back surgery in April and addressed his worldwide fan base again:
"As for returning to competitive golf, the long-term prognosis is positive. My surgeon and physiotherapist say the operation was successful. It’s just a matter of not screwing up."
Now Woods has to deal with this latest drama in his life.
